Be Smart, Be Prepared, Be a TACTICAL GUARDIAN

In these uncertain times it makes sence now more than ever to get you and your family prepared for an emergency that may include a Natural Disaster, Terrorist Attack, and an Economic Collapse. The TACTICAL GUARDIAN approach is to examine your situation and surroundings, have a plan, have a backup plan, and have on hand the gear and supplies your family will need to survive on their own for at least 3 days unassisted (One Month to be smart). A TACTICAL GUARDIAN knows what threats are around and has the education, tools, and training to overcome them. Take these tips, and following information, into account when coming up with an Emergency Plan for your family.

Have an Emergency Plan and 3 back up plans from that.

If your plan is to stay in place during an emergency have the tools in your house for that i.e.: Candles, Food, Water, ect. From that initinal plan you need to come up with a backup plan. For instance if your family has to evacuate your house your survival gear needs to fit in your car and be protected from the elements (as well as looters). Your car also needs enough gas in it to get you out of harm’s way and don’t count on the gas stations to be open. Also, have a plan for when your car is not an option and you have to go on foot. Then your emergency gear will need to be portable. I hope this gets you thinking about your emergency plan. For more tips to help with your planning see the links below.

Survival Grab Bags

The Department of Homeland Security recommends having a 3-day supply of food and water for every family member and pet on hand and ready to grab in a pinch. Why 3 days? Let’s look at what happened during hurricane Katrina for example. The smart people who evacuated when they were supposed to, still found themselves on overcrowded roadways that were flooded over and impassable by car in some spots. So the evacuees had to get to safety on foot or boat or floating log or whatever, only to find that once they got to safety, no one was there with food, water, or first aid for about 3 days. The Department of Homeland Security knows the response time of F.E.M.A (after Katrina so do all the rest of us… “now”) and the fact is that you can’t count on any help for at least 3 days if not longer.
